Before co-founding Blacksheep Ventures, Umberto Bottesini was an entrepreneur and manager who undertook executive roles for several international companies. He commenced his career with technology consulting firms such as IBM and Teradata. In 2005, he served as a manager at Fullsix Group, a part of WPP Group.
In 2008, he co-founded and served as CEO of Simple Agency, which rapidly grew to become the largest digital marketing agency in Italy within a few years. He retained the position of CEO until the agency was acquired by Dentsu, a global leader in media and communications services.
Starting in 2017, he concurrently held the positions of Chief Data Officer of the Group and General Manager of Amnet, the business unit dedicated to programmatic advertising. In November 2018, he was definitively appointed Chief Digital and Data Officer and Executive Board Member of the Group, a position he held until February 2020.
Since 2014, Umberto has been the Founder and CEO of Qreative, a private investment vehicle that creates, identifies, and invests in start-up or scale-up companies with a shared mission: applying emerging technology and deep automation to address real-life or business challenges of today.
Additionally, he serves as a contract professor of Digital Communication at ALMA - Università Cattolica of Milan.
